Bubbly Water at Arcade 7[CANCELLED]
Oathkeeper: Hello! THIS STORY IS CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INSPIRARTION! perhaps someday it'll come back. ^^~
"My game coins," cried a little boy in the distance. I turned around to notice a little boy looking angrily at the pavement. I hurried over to see what was wrong. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I dropped my game coins in the hole! I had to play dolls with my little sister for an hour to get those," cried the boy. I grabbed his hand and took him into the arcade. "Don't worry! My grandpa owns the game shop, We can play all we want!" "Really?" asked the boy in astonishment. I nodded with a big smile. "I'm Leon and I'm 7, What's your name?" "I'm Yumi, and i'm 6 and a half, I bet you're only 6 and a half too, huh?" "Well I'll be 7 soon anyways, same thing;" I held out my hand
"Here, follow me!"
Right before our hands came in touch, there was a bright light that flashed, fading everything. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I slammed the OFF button on my digital alarm clock. Shielding my eyes from the morning sun, I tried to adjust my eyes to the brightness. I was having the same dream for the past 3 days and I absolutely hated it. I kicked my feet in frustration and bit my bottom lip. When we were 8, Leon moved to another state, and he hasn't been back since. By the time I turned 11, I decided not to get my hopes up and get over the fact that he really wasn't going to be back. I'm 15 now, and missing someone was just a feeling I always hated, and dreaming up my childhood memories didn't help.
EDIT: 10/14/10
I got off my bed and headed toward the bathroom to get ready to head out.The summer days were disappearing, and I pretty much wasted most of it at home doing nothing. I clipped my hair in a bun and hastily put on a shirt along with shorts. The warm smell of toast wafted in the air making my stomach growl. Eager to eat, I quickly brushed my teeth and went down the stairs for breakfast. My older brother, Akira, was at the kitchen counter cracking eggs in a bowl. The sight of my brother in my Hello Kitty apron made my eyes twitch, but was expected.
"GOOD MORNING YUMI, MY ADORABLY CUTE LITTLE SISTER, WHO DESERVES THE BEST IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!" My brother turned around with a big smile, and before I could even put my escape plan into action, I had already fallen victim to his back cracking bear hug. A lot of my friends envied me for having such a "cool" brother. Honestly, I think he just had a sister complex. Maybe "sister complex" was to harsh... overprotective and obsessed, would sound better? I was finally released from his suffocating hug. "By the way, Yumi, I have a surprise for you! I think you'll like it, I found it in a box earlier in the garage." He handed me a picture of Leon and I that was secured in a picture frame. Akira returned to the stove to finish cooking the eggs. I sighed and tossed the picture face down in the recycling box. "You don't like it?" Akira asked. I grabbed a piece of toast and without replying, left the house with a slam of the door.
EDIT 11/5/10 (will continues 11/6/10 too late.... i'm tired T_T)
I took a few sips of my Dr.Pepper, and raised one lazy eyelid. My friends were yet to arrive at the 'Usual Place.' The 'Usual Place' was kind of like a tree house, but better. It used to be a video store run by the Roberts, but their father had a transfer in work, so they moved to another state. They tried selling it, but it didn't work out I guess. Ever since, this was our 'Usual place.' I took a few more sips of the soda, and realized the sugar wasn't really working, and I was on the verdge of knocking out. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I felt the vibration of my cellphone buzzing throughout my thigh. Without looking, I answered the call not knowing, or really caring who called me.
"Hello," I muttered with my hand over my eyes.
There was no reply.
"Hello....hello?" I tried once more, and there was still no answer. Right when I was going to hang up, I heard a laugh.
"Hello, Is this Yumi Takashi," asked the stranger on the other line.
"Yes, this is shhhheeeeeee," I answered tired, and patiencless. I was absolutely ready to hang up. It was probably my friend prank calling me AGAIN, there was no use in wasting my precious nap time.
"Shut up Johnny, you're not funny," I snapped.
"err, Johnny? Who's that? I don't know who you're talking about!" The sarcasm in his voice was starting to piss me off, so instead, I hung up, put my cellphone on the table, and closed my eyes, quickly falling asleep.
EDIT 11/17/10
"Wake up, Yumi!"
The voice was so distant, it was strange. I opened my eyes slowly, my eyes slowly adjusting to the light. I looked around the room and saw Jen standing over me. I laughed at the thought of her watching me while I was sleeping. That was just so Edward Cullen like. I couldn't imagine Jen with pale skin and sparkling in the sun.
"You're such a creeper," I managed through my giggles.
"I am not, you weirdo," Jen protested. By the way, you have a lot of missed calls."
I grabbed my phone and viewed the missed calls. 5 missed calls by 310-582-9725. I slid the screen back and placed my phone on the table again.
"HELLO, PEOPLE!" Making annoying noises, Johnny walked in. I quickly tackled him and dragged him by the collar towards the bean bag chair I sat in.
"Apologize."
"What for?"
Johnny had quite some nerve to ask.
I cleared my throat and took out my phone and looked over the call time.
"For wasting 4 minutes and 55 seconds of my nap time and the minutes that just went to waste."
"What? I didn't call you."
"Then who did?" I felt confusion crossing my face.
"How should I kn-" I cut Johnny off; redialing the mysterious number.
Could it be...?
EDIT 1/17/11
I listened to the dial, my heart pounding so hard that I wanted to scream. Could it have been Leon? If so, how would he get my number? Although I knew it was all impossible, I still clung onto what little hope I had.
BZZZZZ. BZZZZZZZZZZZ. LOCK EYES FROM ACROSS THE ROOM...!
My head turned towards Johnny, as he picked up his phone.
"Hello, California Pizza Kitchen, how may I help you?"
"JOHNNY," I screamed at the top of my lungs.
I was ready to murder the little punk, but he had already sprinted out of "The Usual Place." I threw my phone on the sofa, and covered my face with my hands. Jen sat by me and uncovered my face. I knew when she did that, I had to be prepared for a lecture. But, Jen's facial expressions didn't look like she was going to give me one, Still, I braced myself for what was going to come at me.
"You thought it was Leon, didn't you?"
I felt my eyebrows crinkling together, and my lips taking on it's pout form.
"No I didn't," I lied.
"Don't lie to me," Jen said, while whacking me with a pillow.
I didn't reply.
"You like Leon, right?"
"Why does everyone have to think that? I don't like him, never did, and never will!"
I whacked Jen back with the pillow.
"Oh really," Jen snapped sarcastically.
"Yes, really! What's so wrong with just simply missing an old childhood friend? He said he'd be back soon, yet it's been 7 years! I should have the right to be mad, right?"
Jen only giggled.
"How would you like it if I moved far away for 7 years, without a single call, text, or even a single letter to you?"
"Alright, I get it," Jen sighed.
"Talking about Leon again?"
I turned my head to see Brandy walking in.
